The conservation of wetlands and access to them are a key issue for birders. We’ll start by discussing the importance of wetlands and the the threats to them. Following this we’ll discuss some of the current programs working to alleviate
these threats and actions that birders can take to help preserve wetlands.

Don Morrow is a naturalist and birder. He has led the winter wildlife trips at St. Marks NWR for the last fifteen years. Recently retired from a 32-year career in land preservation, he now spends his time volunteering at the refuge, birding and writing.
