Ann learned about nature from the back of a horse thanks to her mother, who continued to ride until she was 80. Her mom was deaf in one ear, so Ann learned to locate the birds, along with some sounds, to locate them for her mom to identify. Ann has had a long and varied career in Environmental Management beginning as a Wildlife Biologist in the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) where she counted and tagged sea birds.

She eventually became Director of the Division of Fish and Wildlife of the USVI. Moving to Colorado after 11 years in the islands she began working with the Colorado Division of Wildlife, working with the Riverwatch program, training students to maintain water quality in the many rivers located in Colorado. She worked for 10 years in the Habitat Section.

Once they had a son, the Seiler’s decided to move to Florida to be closer to family where Ann began work with the Siting Coordination Office at the Department of Environmental Protection. She continued in that Office, coordinating licensing with all state and local regulatory offices for power plants and major transmission lines until her retirement in 2024. Ann is a passionate gardener, animal rescuer, birder, anything to do with nature. She also enjoys reading, traveling and determining what she wants to be next as she continues to grow up.
